About Our Program
The agriculture program is offered at five out of the six high schools operated by the Fullerton Joint Union High School District; among these five is Sunny Hills High School. Founded in the 1960's, this program has been striving to help students develop skills that are essential to success and allows them to find their passion for a future career with the help of agriculture education. Each event we host at our chapter is planned out in order to help each and every student develop and grow in leadership, social skills, public speaking skills and so much more!
Each student is encouraged to have a Supervised Agriculture Experience project (SAE) ranging from plants to small/large livestock animals and/or volunteering at an agriculture-related business. Through these projects, each student will be given the opportunity to develop responsibility, teamwork skills, time management skills, and the ability expand their knowledge on the topics of the agriculture industry and any profits made from them.
Each student enrolling in an agriculture course becomes an active member of The National FFA Organization (Future Farmers of America). By being an active member, each student will be able to compete in various competitions, attend social events at the local chapter, section and/or region level, and attend leadership conferences at the local chapter, section, region, state and national levels.
