Why Should I Join?

  • Be a part of the largest student organization in the world

Without the blue jacket, we are just one; one voice, one individual. By putting on one of these blue corduroy jackets, beside us we have half a million others throughout the nation and we are united as one. Half a million other students have our back and we learn together to tackle some of the world's toughest challenges.

  • Learn skills that will help you in your future careers

We aren't leaders from the beginning of time. Through FFA, members can strengthen their personal skills, learn to manage their time, and discover how to respect themselves as well as gain respect from others. These skills for success will be developed through events at the local chapter, section, region, and state levels, national FFA conferences/workshops and career development events.

  • Meet new friends from across the country

Attend events held at the local chapter, section, regional, state and national levels. There will be opportunities given to students to develop social skills and to make long-term friendships.

  • Compete on Leadership and Judging teams

Students may participate in a variety of competitions, ranging from identifying diseases and Veterinary equipment to creating floral arrangements. These competitions provide opportunities for recognition at the local state and national levels.

  • Apply for more than $2million in Scholarships

Over 2 million dollars in scholarships are awarded to FFA members each year. Alongside these scholarship awards, there are more scholarship opportunities through competitions, businesses in your local communities, as well as FFA supporters who believe in each and every student's success in their education and future careers.

  • Do your part in helping provide food and fiber to the world

Where does the meat at our local markets come from? Where do our various vegetables and fruit come from? Through hands-on experiences, members will be able to understand where our food comes from and the amount of hard work and dedication it takes.
